2016 Toyota Tacoma: quicker, quieter and more comfortable The new pickup looks like a buff version of the previous model, which is what Tacoma buyers want. A 2.7-liter four and a 3.5-liter V6 are both available, delivering 159 hp and 278 hp, respectively. Several bed and cab sizes are offered. All Tacomas now ride on the company’s 4x4 suspension, leading to 9.4 inches of ground clearance. Mileage is comparable to the new offerings from Chevy and GMC—around 20 mpg combined, with the V6.
